RP Info and Hooks

[Little] Ala Mhigo

Evie was the last member of the Hearts to be born on the family ranch. She lived there for a few years, but she hardly remembers it. Her entire impression of Ala Mhigo came from the stories told by elders she met in the refugee camps of Ul’dah and Little Ala Mhigo. She speaks of “home” with a haunted sense of awe, though.
Perhaps your character is familiar with her extended family or even met Evie there prior to the events of Stormblood. It is also possibly that you may have noticed her traveling between Ul’dah and Little Ala Mhigo with supplies to support her family. If your character is also an Ala Mhigan refugee, perhaps your family traveled with hers or met at the camps.

Past Lives

During her adolescence, when her brothers were still alive, Evie was a bit of a street rat. She was an adequate pick pocket and quite the con artist. She wasn’t malicious or greedy, though, which made her a target of the local and native Ul’dahns. Fights were common between her and other street kids, and in time she was drawn in by the allure of the gladiatorial events. She was just in her teens when she started participating in low stakes matches. However, this was a short-lived career since a merchant bought her out of the game and delivered her to a life too good to be true. She was trained as an exotic dancer and during her training spent a lot of time enjoying luxuries, which she could not have dreamt of only a year prior. However, the dreams turned to nightmares, as they are wont to do, and while trying to get out of her contract with the merchant, she was abducted and vanished for several years.
It is possible people would know her from any one of these prior careers if they were in Ul’dah from about a decade ago until the events of Stormblood. I am open to any sort of connections, whether your character had been conned by a toe-haired girl who could cry on demand or if your character was one of the locals trying to run her off your turf. Perhaps you saw one of her performances while she was a gladiator or dancer.

Taste of Heaven

Evie took up residence in Limsa Lominsa after recovering from her time in Garlean custody and worked at The Bismarck until very recently. She has always had a passion for cooking and baking, so while serving food was a rewarding way to interact with people, Evie was deadest on opening her own café and bakery. Thanks to a donor from her past, she has finally achieved that dream! Taste of Heaven (check out its tab) is owned entirely by Evie, and is managed by a small staff. Her apartment is located on the second story, along with two other modest apartments that she is seeking to rent out.
Perhaps your character is looking for an inexpensive place to live or a job in the food industry. Or maybe your character has become one of the café’s first regulars. Since this is a newer development for Evie, I may not have as many hook ideas for it, but I am open to ToH being a way in which our characters connect.

Taste of Heaven is a small café and bakery located within walking distance of one of La Noscea’s beautiful beaches. It boasts both indoor and outdoor dining and cooking, and offers a varied menu that draws upon a fusion of Gyr Abanian, Ul’dahn, and Lominsian cuisines. Guests can also stop by to purchase baked goods, which are made in-house and restocked fresh daily. Although it is a relatively new establishment, it is already a favorite of locals and travelers alike because of the friendly staff, quiet and relaxed atmosphere, and, of course, the good food.

OoC Information

Taste of Heaven is open to the public for rp but it is not a player operated venue at this time. There are three housing NPCs positioned in the building to act as employees to add to the atmosphere. There may be events held at the café in the future, but for now it is simply a pretty venue for rp.
